Every single day, 22 veterans take their own lives. That’s 22 suicides a day, a suicide every 65 minutes. For many veterans, the simple act of asking for help is very difficult. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and we owe it to our veterans to shine a light on an enduring epidemic. The Burrows-Young American Legion Post #114 of Volga will again host their fourth annual 2.2 mile walk/run/bike/ride on Saturday, September 13th to raise awareness and funds for this epidemic. The money raised will be donated to these local organizations: Warriors Never Give Up, Wings of Valor Lodge, South Dakota Service Dogs, Reclamation Ranch. Golf carts will be available for those who wish to participate but are not physically able to do so. A limited number of t-shirts will be ava+ilable for sale on the day of the event.
