When it comes to the auto industry, the Brookings Auto Mall's roots run deep. Established in 1961, Brookings Auto Mall was first known as Kjellsen Chevrolet-Cadillac. The family-owned and run business began selling cars in downtown Brookings. In the mid-1970s, the dealership moved to its current location at 2323 East Sixth Street. Since then, the dealership changed hands and names several times but has always sold Chevrolets. In 2001, the dealership was renamed Brookings Auto Mall to encompass the local community and continue the organization's dedication to providing quality vehicles with remarkable service. Today, Brookings Auto Mall has more than 50 employees, including some who have worked here since its doors first opened. Brookings Auto Mall prides itself on selling quality vehicles and offering a wide range of services including, a certified service department, full line of genuine General Motors parts and accessories, and acclaimed collision repair department. It is the intention for Brookings Auto Mall to continue to offer the highest quality of service and professionalism to its customers and its community for many years to come.
