Please join us for a ribbon cutting at the Community Food Forest! The public is welcome to come celebrate the opening of this collaborative project between the Sustainability Council and the Brookings Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department.
A food forest is a sustainable agricultural system designed to mimic a natural forest. It includes various vegetation, creating a diverse and resilient environment that produces food and other resources. This project will foster community engagement by providing a shared space for planting, harvesting, and providing educational opportunities for all ages. Come learn more on 6/10 – we hope to see you there.
